Obsidian and Mother of Pearl (Abalone) Necklace with Silver Plated Accent Beads.

This necklace is designed using obsidian and abalone or also known as Mother of Pearl beads.

These has beautiful unique stones, showing layers as you can see in the close up photos. Silver plated ball beads accent this piece as well as iridescent crystal beads and it is finished with liquid silver beads. The closure is a toggle type for ease in wearing. This piece is 25 inches long for the person who prefers them slightly longer. The obsidian is paired with abalone beads, these are pure white shell beads (again see the close ups) using only the inner parts of the shell, so no matter how the bead turns it will always be white and pretty.

Obsidian is a gemstone created by volcanic glass, similiar in composition as granite. It was used for making arrowheads on hunting tools by primitive peoples and can be found in Europe, Japan, Mexico, South America, the United States, and many other places. Obsidian is an earth-stone, activating the root chakra and grounding you in your connection to the Earth. It clears the aura of negative energy. Obsidian is considered by many to be a stone for protection, cleansing and healing.

Like obisidian, Abalone is said to also carry energies of healing as well as protection and emotional balance. It is said as well that it brings with it a natural shielding that blesses the person holding it with tranquility, especially helpful for those going through emotional turmoil or those having a hard time dealing with a situation in a relationship. Through it’s soothing energy, it provides a layer of protection that picks the spirit up with a confidence necessary to view situations from a new, more understanding perspective.
